Last Monday's Meeting

On Monday there was a good "buzz" in the air as members met in committee to contribute to the planning process for the year ahead.

Greg Russell presented a Powerpoint summary of members' input; a copy of which can be found HERE and further discussion canvassed a number of additional ideas.

A small group will meet on Thursday to take those broad topics and try to translate them into a workable action plan.

Next Monday's Meeting-Charter Night (Partners invited)

Anne Herraman is the President of the Mt Lofty Districts Historical Society.  She will be our special guest speaker as we commemorate 47 years of service to the community.

Partners are cordially invited to join in this celebration of Charter Night, 14 September, 1974

Please confirm your attendance to Pauline before Monday.

Planning for SAFD22 is Already Underway!

Greg Russell has secured dates from the  Echunga Sports Ground Committee for the 2022 Small Acreage Field Days in September, next year..

The SAFD organising committee is made up at the moment by Greg, PDG Dick, Dan, Nic and Andrew but will be expanded as the event starts to take shape.  Eventually, though, to pull it off successfully, everyone will have a role to play!

The committee will convene next Tuesday to commence its deliberations .

Travellers' Tales

Malcolm writes: Well, a lot has happened since my last report. We got to know the Margaret River region reasonably well which included visits to Busselton with its iconic 1.8km wooden jetty, Dunsborough, the coast and a few wineries.

In Pemberton, Mal posed inside a 65m tall Tingle Tree and took the Otto Walpole treetop walk 40m above the ground and in Albany inspected some incredible chainsaw art and visited the ANZA Centre where he found his grandfather’s name in the Gallipoli listing.

Meanwhile, back in SA...

Pauline and Ken have  just returned after exploring the Eyre Peninsula and the Great Australian Bight which they took in on a scenic flight.

Throughout their travels, there was plenty of Silo art to enjoy.

Pictured below are also the old Nullarbor Roadhouse and the wonderful Murphy's Haystacks (check out the scale in the photo above...that's Pauline in there!)

Not your average wind farm!  This is the wonderful Penong Windmill Museum...highly recommended, Pauline says.

This Week's Logo Trivia Fun Facts

No, it is NOT the output of a printer running out of ink!

IBM prides itself on its employment policies founded on principle of equality.  Look closely and you can see that the logo is made up of multiple equal (=) signs!

Did you note the white arrow between the E and the X?  The arrow is to be read with the word "Express" as in express delivery.
