Latest news - what's happening and how you can help.

The Upcoming Events list to the left shows you both meeting and event information for the next couple of months. You will notice that there are sub committees meeting regularly off-site to further progress our major events - the Small Acreage Field Days being the next focus.

There are a couple more fundraising events coming up in May - breakfast catering for the Hills Garden Affair at Stangate House on May 5th, and our usual BBQ for the Salvos at the Stirling Market on May 26th. Sign up lists for both events are now on ClubRunner. Please help where you can so that it is not the same people putting in at every event.

DINNER AT MARSHI'S KITCHEN

On Monday May 6 we will be away from the hotel for a social meeting at Stirling's newest restaurant, Marshi's Kitchen. Marshi is Sri Lankan and the menu will have a selection of the restaurant's signature dishes. Cost will be $35 per person. Registration is essential as numbers will be limited. You can register on ClubRunner HERE. (Don't forget to register your partner as well.) It should be a fun night and a great way to support a local business.

SCULPTURE EXHIBITION

Another successful Sculpture Exhibition has now been held at Stangate House with excellent attendance at both the stone carving workshop on April 7 and on most days during the exhibition itself. We sold 26 sculptures to a value of $28, 517.00 and with a only a few expenses still to be accounted for, we will probably make close to $7000. Huge thanks go to Quentin Gore for his excellent curatorship and we hope he is keen to come on board again. Thanks also to our sponsors - Adelaide Hills Council ($1000), Efex ($500), Paradise Mazda ($500), Red Cacao ($300) and Cleveland Nursery ($300). Their generous sponsorship has helped us with hire costs for Stangate House and printing and publicity costs which really add up. The raffle was a great success - selling out of all books and gaining us $2000.

Thanks also to those members who bumped in, bumped out and filled shifts every day, engaging directly with the public and making sure everything was running smoothly. There has been lots of positive feedback about the sculptures and the beautiful match Stangate House is for such an exhibition.

CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK

The ClubRunner App has been upgraded and now has a number of new features. One of these is the ability to sign up and register for events - a much easier option for those of you who use your phones a lot. Please take the time to explore what the App has to offer - it is downloadable from the App Store or Google Play depending on which brand of phone you have. You will need to sign in the first time with your ClubRunner user name and password. Hint: after you have signed in, leave it signed in on your phone - much quicker to use every time if you do.
