President's Message

Fellow Rotarians, Family and Friends,

Firstly, I would like to thank the (19) members for their contribution to the discussion on Monday 6.11 about the club’s future. It was good that we can be open and take on different opinions about how we should go ahead.

Suffice to say, we are in need of an ongoing, local project to raise funds. Without raising funds, we will not be able to continue giving to the community how we want.

I have sent an email to all members with a summary and some questions.  Please, I encourage you ALL to respond so that I can collate and get a full club direction that we can act upon as soon as possible.

There are concerns on the ability with CR and emails for events. You can always reply to the email with your availability or make a call. Be that as it may, CR is still used to track all the member activity, volunteering and hours etc. So one of us will still need to enter the information. The more people adept with CR, the less work for another member. Pauline and Dan are always willing and able to offer comprehensive training

We will, however, offer the sign up sheet at meetings for those attending that require it.

We have an active time ahead and I look forward to our gatherings during the coming months. Don’t forget to check the website calendar for the upcoming events.

Stay safe and well.

Create Hope in the World.

Regular and Annual General Meeting 17 October, 2023

On Monday, John Osborne was appointed to chair the 2023 Annual General Meeting.

17 financial Members were present to review the club's progress, its financial position and to elect the leadership team for the Rotary Year 2024-25.  Our thanks to Pauline Annear who was appointed Treasurer and Director of the Finance and Administration Committee, Grant Andrew who will head up Membership and Andrew Cass and Rob Hill who put their names forward for Projects and Youth respectively.  Stephen Blacketer has nominated for President Elect (2025-26) and Malcolm Horton will sit on the Board as Past President.

While we have the nucleus of a strong management team, the crucial roles of President, Vice-President and Secretary remain vacant!

President Malcolm urged every member, including those who were apologies that night, to seriously consider stepping up to support the club.

The rest of the meeting was given over to fellowship and a fun team quiz which proved too challenging for most!

Our new T-Shirts have arrived!

The Four Way Test
Of all the things we think, say and do

Is it the TRUTH?
Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

Please support the Friends of Rotary the way they support us!
