I trust you all had an enjoyable weekend on the long weekend and did not have too many withdrawal symptoms from not having a meeting!
Wow! Such a lot happening at the moment. Despite what is happening in our world relating to coronavirus, plans are currently going ahead in relation to both the SAFD and also to our Sculpture Exhibition. We are monitoring the situation carefully and will keep you all updated one way or another in the near future. It may, of course, change, so we will wait and see.
I am attending a District Conference Committee Meeting tonight and I am sure there will also be discussion re what will happen in relation to the upcoming conference in just over two weeks.
Last Monday 6th March, for our meeting, we once again held our committee meetings as the main event, sitting at a table with our fellow committee members. There was much enthusiastic and lively conversation and a great evening was had by all present. I am very happy with the way this has been working so we will continue to keep the first Monday as committee meeting night. It is a great opportunity too, to share ideas and conversation with perhaps different people from usual. Please make sure to be there to have your say on what happens in our club.
This Monday is going to be a big night. Firstly, we are all meeting at the home of Mike Bennett at 16 Woorabinda Drive, Stirling at 4.45pm to see and hear about the Lotus Car Company and its cars. Please see Robert Koehne’s emails of 4th March and also 13th March for more details.
If you have not yet indicated you are coming please let Robert know asap by email. Roko46@bigpond.com (16 have so far responded)
Following that visit we go to the Stirling Hotel for our usual meeting. The guest speaker is David Baker from APM which is a provider of disability services. Greg Russell will be updating us on the situation with SAFD and following the meeting there will be Board Meeting.
We have a full team for the Bike SA ride on Sunday. Thank you to those who have volunteered.

On Monday Pauline will be bringing the Raffle books for the Sculpture exhibition. She has allocated one book to each member but would be delighted if you offer to take two or more and sell them all!!
I have just received a directive from our District Risk Management Officer, Nigel Woolmer relating to meetings that are held. “Coronavirus precautions. To protect Rotarians and guests
Sanitise microphones and equipment used by others
Do not shake hands or kiss people on greeting them (elbow bumps are ok)
It is essential to frequently wash your hands with soap”
I shall see you all on Monday evening and in the meantime ….please stay well!!
