President's Message

Hello again fellow Rotarians, family and friends.

Our annual dinner at Heathfield High School was well attended by our members and partners, which was lovely to see and a report is in this newsletter.

There are a few topics and projects active or being started that will hopefully improve our public image, hence making Rotary a familiar name in peoples’ mind. You will see the report of the new public table outside the Stirling Library which has a plaque noting it was donated by Rotary.

The Club board has agreed to sponsor one student to go to the National Youth Science Forum, RYLA in September and also sponsor another student to attend the Rotary Youth Sailing Challenge in October.

As part of the SA Rotary 100 years, a Peace Pole will be purchased and installed in a prominent position in Stirling. More information on this will be given by our guest speaker on 24 October.

You are all aware that we are asking all members to step up and assist with our major event of the Hills Small Acreage Field Days, which is greatly appreciated by the organising committee. This major undertaking will be a significant event at the end of September and will showcase what the Rotary Cub of Stirling can do. Posters are being distributed so please look out for these, comment and tell everyone about our Club’s event. We appreciate that you have put your name on the roster to help on either one or both days (24 & 25 September).

Let us all continue the fellowship and great community service.

Imagine Rotary

Annual Heathfield High School Dinner

Even with high expectations based on previous years, we were all mightily impressed with the culinary and service performance of students enrolled in kitchen operations (back of house) and in food and beverage service (front of house).  The food selection was extensive, generous and delicious and the service provided by the large team was relaxed, friendly and very professional.

President Malcolm lavished well deserved praise for the outstanding
efforts of students for their efforts on our behalf!

The there was appreciation and high praise for our hosts for the evening,  Assistant Principal-Middle School Ross Ball and teacher Lucy Arnold, for a terrific evening.

President Malcolm presented a Certificate of Appreciation and a
cheque for some additional kitchen equipment.

All in all, a good time was had by all!

Paul Harris Fellowship for President Malcolm.

In recognition of his personal support for the Rotary foundation, PDG Tim Klar took the opportunity offered by the Changeover Dinner, to present President Malcolm with a PHF Award and to express thanks on behalf of the Foundation.

The Hills Small Acreage Field Days

Although there has been extensive marketing to attract sponsors and exhibitors to participate, (particularly successfully we might add), publicity to attract the public to the event has clicked into high gear.

If you do not see this poster in a location where you think there  there SHOULD be one, let Dan know!

The Four Way Test
Of all the things we think, say and do

Is it the TRUTH?
Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

Please support the Friends of Rotary the way they support us!
