On Monday, 12 October, the club held its annual Hat Night to highlight mental health and to support Rotary Health.
Members wore a favourite hat and prizes were awarded in several categories including for the best, personal hat story.
The speaker on the night was Chris "Savvy" Savill, an RU OK? Ambassador, who was recently named Mt Barker Citizen of the year for 2020 !
He was an enthusiastic and engaging speaker who passionately outlined the consequences, scope and impact on individuals, families and communities affected by mental health issues. RU OK? he explained, is the front line response to early intervention and involves nothing more than showing concern, listening and offering support to those in need.  He offered several practical tips for how and when to approach someone and how to help.
